Including Retainage in QuickBooks Integrated Export
If you use the QuickBooks integrated style of exporting invoices to QuickBooks, you have a choice in ShopPAK Options | Accounting Tab when exporting a progress billing invoice that contains held retainage.
Check "Include retainage when exporting progress billings" if you want to send QuickBooks two invoice transactions: one transaction for the invoice amount that you anticipate receiving from your customer (this amount would not include held retainage that period), and two, another invoice for the amount of held retainage that period.
If you check the checkbox, ShopPAK displays a pick box so you can choose the Accounts Receivable GL account associated with the 2nd transaction -- Retainage Accounts Receivable.
If you don't place a check in the checkbox, ShopPAK will send one transaction to QuickBooks that contains the monthly billing amount minus held retainage for the billing.
