Difference Between ProjectPAK and Estimated Values
The ProjectPAK Estimate Conversion Utility fills the product Materials grid with estimated materials, provided of course, you include estimated materials in your bid. In the example above, notice the columns Ppak Qty and Ppak Unit Price. The ProjectPAK values are ‘read only’ and displayed in blue. We don’t allow you to change the ProjectPAK values since they represent the budgeted quantities and prices you’ve given to your customer. ShopPAK uses the ProjectPAK values for variance reporting and analysis so you can compare actual material quantity and cost to budgeted ProjectPAK quantity and cost.
Unless you have strongly engineered ProjectPAK assemblies that accurately capture product bill of materials, you’ll need to edit materials after converting the ProjectPAK estimate over to ShopPAK as material needs are finalized during engineering and the submittal approval process.
