Difference Between ProjectPAK and Estimated Values
The ProjectPAK Estimate Conversion Utility automatically populates the work order ‘Materials’ grid with estimated materials, provided of course, you estimated material needs in your bid. In the example above, notice the columns “Ppak Qty”, “Ppak Unit Price”, and “Ppak Ext Price”. The ProjectPAK values are read only, and thus, displayed in blue. You can’t change ProjectPAK values since they capture budgeted quantities and prices you’ve given the customer. ShopPAK uses the ProjectPAK values for variance reporting and analysis so you can compare actual material quantity and cost to budgeted ProjectPAK quantity and cost.
If you sell catalog items and you’ve created ProjectPAK product assemblies with accurate bills of material, then you’ll be able to immediately purchase or place reservations against inventory items based on the converted materials sent via ProjectPAK. However, if the work order contains products that are more custom in nature, you’ll probably need to edit as material needs are finalized during engineering and submittal approval process.
